Pall-Ex are winners again
Pall-Ex are celebrating after being recognised with the Customer Care Award for the first time at the Motor Transport Awards.
The sought-after trophy was awarded to Pall-Ex due to its SHINE ethos, developed to enhance inter-departmental working and focus its team on improving quality and customer service to earn the title of 'number one pallet network for quality'.
Kevin Buchanan, Group Managing Director, comments: “This is an outstanding achievement for Pall-Ex and is a testament to the drive and vision of the whole team, who have worked hard to implement change across the company as a whole.
“We restructured our customer service department to improve our customer experience and raised industry benchmarks thanks to our new international capabilities. This has enhanced our entire operation and, coupled with the SHINE mantra, has allowed Pall-Ex to achieve excellent growth and retention rates.
“As part of our efforts, we have become the only pallet network to achieve accreditation for the industry’s gold standard - the new ISO 9001: 2015 quality standard, which demonstrates our ability to meet customer, statutory and regulatory requirements.
“So far 2018 has seen Pall-Ex celebrate a number of great successes and we look forward to building on this over the next six months.”

Matthews Haulage on 5 Live!!
MATTHEWS HAULAGE DRIVERS FEATURED ON BBC RADIO 5 LIVE TERRORISM THREAT BROADCAST !
Ten of our drivers recently attended their latest Driver Certificate of Professional Competence training course - Terrorism Risk and Incident Prevention (TRIP) !
Unfortunately the risk of terrorism is something that we all have to live with, and as evidenced in recent terrorist attacks commercial vehicles have increasingly been used by terrorists as weapons with fatal consequences and also horrifically large numbers of casualties.
The course run by Fleet Source, the training arm of the FORS Community Partnership (FCP) was attended and filmed by BBC Radio 5 Live, and three of our drivers were interviewed and appeared on their interesting broadcast regarding terrorism threat with the focus being on the rise of ‘vehicle as a weapon attacks’ (VAAW).
Our drivers were asked by the Five Live journalist what they had learnt from the training course and if it would affect their daily behaviours when at work. The feedback was extremely positive and all were in agreement that they would now further consider the possibility of potential incidents of theft, hijacking, suspicious activities, personnel and packages in relation to vehicular terrorism.
There were further broadcasts also on BBC Radio Solent and BBC Radio Kent who subsequently picked up on the event, and also ran further discussions including ‘phone in’ interviews from drivers and relatives of drivers who now consider the risks of VAAW attacks.
We would like to thank Fleet Source for the course which we felt was highly beneficial to all who attended, and without doubt the rest of our drivers will attend the same course in the future.
We would highly recommend this to all our fellow hauliers, to find out more about Trip please visit:-
